Jessica Boor
Victim Advocate Candidate
Dismantling Rape Culture Week
Anchor 1

Below is the example of a program I'd be interested in implementing at Columbus State Community College as a Victim Advocate. This program highlights some of the range of programming experiences I would bring into this position and meets several learning styles.
It encompasses passive programming, bystander intervention, engaging men & masculine identities in ending sexual assault, partnering with academic affairs, providing ongoing support with survivors, and educating students, staff, & faculty on gender-based violence.
The three main aims of this program are:
-
Increase students' awareness and use of resources and reporting as related to sexual misconduct
-
Increase the number of men and male-identified individuals engaged in efforts to end sexual assault
-
Increase student, staff, and faculty confidence levels in identifying and interrupting potential situations of gender-based violence on and off campus
